Dickleburgh sits just off the A140 between Diss and Long Stratton, and many of its older cottages and farmhouses carry chimney stacks that show the effects of decades of Norfolk frost cycles.
The village has a core of traditional flint and brick-built properties where stacks were originally laid in soft lime mortar — perfectly suited to older buildings but vulnerable once repointed in hard cement, which causes the surrounding bricks to crack rather than absorb movement. We reverse this damage during a rebuild, reinstating the correct mortar specification so the stack breathes and flexes as it was designed to.
As a Diss-based team, Dickleburgh is practically on our doorstep, and we can usually carry out a free chimney survey within a day or two of your call. We cover the surrounding hamlets of Rushall and Starston too, so if you've been putting off a rebuild, there's no reason to wait any longer.
